Times Grey Cell organised The Economic Times Edvantage 2008 on June 6th at New Delhi. The day-long conference focused on the higher education system in India.
Education is the backbone of a nation and one of the key indicators of a country's growth and development. The demographic differentials reveal that over next 20-30 years, India has distinct advantages in a population profile concentrated in the younger age group where many new opportunities can be fully optimized. The rise of the knowledge economy at a global level has reinforced education as a key economic and business driver.
In this backdrop, Edvantage brought to the fore the country’s focus on strengthening the new-age knowledge economy by expanding capacities in higher education, in order to keep ahead of the rising domestic and global demand.
