Overview
Against the background of business scandals and deceptive accounting systems, administrative and supervisory bodies across the world have sought to bring in tough legislation and directives to strengthen business environment and restore investor confidence in the financial markets. Putting in mechanisms for stringent corporate governance is a key element in this endeavor. Guidelines and recommendations raise the effectiveness of boards have become mandatory with most companies.
Corporate Dossier as a supplement of The Economic Times is a strategic access point for the CEOs of corporate India with its special focus on management and strategy. Corporate Governance Seminar 2010 is a collaborative effort by Corporate Dossier and industry constituents, including the independent directors and law firms. Second in the series, this year’s summit will provide a platform for knowledge sharing on the theme of “Linking governance with performance”.
Corporate Dossier Corporate Governance Seminar 2009 was an important milestone in our agenda, as it brought together key stakeholders in the industry, including Mr. Russell Parera, KPMG; Ms. Zia Mody, AZB Partners; Mr. Joseph Massey, MD & CEO, MCX Stock Exchange; Mr. R K Lakshminarayana, Wipro Technologies; and Ms. Madhabi Puri Buch, ICICI Securities, on a common platform to share insights, debate, and outline key priorities for “Implementation of corporate governance code.”
